Orphanage In Uganda – Social Media Writing And Illustration

Here is some social media writing and an illustration I did for Heavenly City Childcare Ministries in Uganda. I’ve been connected with Ssuuna (the man behind this operation) for perhaps over a year now. It seems clear to me that Ssuuna has a great work ethic and drive to help all of the orphaned children that he works with. Beyond helping orphans (perhaps about 50 of them staying there), Heavenly City Childcare Ministries is also known to also serve and feed street children in Kampala. Many of these children would not have this resource if not for the help and support of others. Most banks in Uganda do not support PayPal, so perhaps the best way to Make A Donation is through MoneyGram or Western Union.

Here is the social media post I wrote for assistance:

“Hello friends, we are reaching out for your help for these children in need this holiday season! We look after 51 children here in the orphanage and feed about 70 to 80 children daily (we do not want to turn away those who are hungry, coming from the streets). We’ve been doing this for 10 years now! We typically feed them posho and rice. The food we are currently giving is not as healthy as we would like it to be because we currently don’t have the funds. We only have enough food for about 6 more days as we are getting low on supplies (beans, soup, etc.). We are reaching out to ask you to please help us through these times as we do not want any of these children to go hungry!

Please help. Perhaps the best and quickest way to help us is to send a donation via WorldRemit (http://www.worldremit.com), Moneygram (https://secure.moneygram.com/) or Western Union (https://www.westernunion.com). We understand PayPal is commonly used and trusted in North America, however, PayPal is currently not working for us. There are some issues with getting it setup with easy access for us here in Uganda (though we are working on making PayPal a practical option for us and all those who wish to donate that way in the future!).

We hope everything is well with you and we appreciate any help you can give. Thank you!

Love and appreciation from Heavenly City Child Care Ministry,
